Type Locality and Naming
Along the Atkamar stream, southwestern part of the Kara-Tyube Mountains. V.S. Korsakov in 1958 (1960).
Synonym: Atkamar Suite, Аткамарская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Predominantly quartzitic, phyllitic, carbonaceous-clayey, and silty (aleurolite)-clayey slates, with layers of limestones, sandstones, quartzites, siliceous, and jasperoid slates. Thickness 470m. Tungsten occurrence is associated with skarn rocks
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lower boundary is tectonic. Schematic stratigraphic column indicates the lower contact as Lolabulak Fm
Upper contact
Conformable overlain by the Burchakyrtau Fm of Wenlock
Regional extent
Kara-Tyube Mountains.
